Meet Dr. Ajay Kumar Kriplani – Pioneer in Laparoscopic, GI, and Bariatric Surgery

Dr. Kriplani holds an MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur, and is a distinguished fellow of several prestigious surgical societies, including FIAGES, FICLS, FALS, and FAIS. He is credited with performing India’s first laparoscopic adrenalectomy and splenectomy, as well as the first laparoscopic Whipple’s pancreaticoduodenectomy in North India. His extensive experience encompasses a wide range of laparoscopic procedures, including anti-reflux surgeries, gastric and esophageal surgeries, and colonic resections.

A passionate educator and researcher, Dr. Kriplani has trained hundreds of surgeons from India and neighboring countries such as Nepal, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. He has delivered over 400 live surgical demonstrations and keynote addresses at national and international conferences, including events in Rome, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Tashkent, Dubai, Kathmandu, and Dhaka. His contributions to surgical education and practice have been recognized with numerous awards, including the prestigious Dr. S.R. Joglekar Award and Dr. N. Sethuraman Oration.
